My Best – and LAST! – Thanksgiving Tips Part 3
What to do with all those leftovers, from saving half bottles of wine to reimagining dinner.
This is a biggun’ friends.
Lots of photos and some pretty bangin’ recipes which take up lines through not necessarily space.
If you are reading in your email, this post may be cut off, so you might be better off flipping to the app, which should be the button on the top right.
I may or may not have a cold.
Last weekend I had a pinchy, scratchy, sore throat, and early in the week I had a few sniffles with a vaguely stuffy head, that, to be honest, might have been all in my head.
I seem to be ok now but maybe this lurking cold is just lying in wait for the holiday weekend? I will be so annoyed if that happens.
To combat this potential Thanksgiving blow up, I am madly sipping on a hot tea of citrus, turmeric, and ginger. I would have included the recipe today, as I really do think it’s helpful (again, all in my head?) but this final, pre-holiday missive is already weighty enough, so my cold-fighting elixir recipe will have to wait until Saturday’s Quaintrelle Weekender.
I’m delighted to see so many new faces around here. Thank you for sharing Quaintrelle with your wine and food loving friends. Because we have a number of new faces, I’ve linked to past posts below which might be very helpful for you this holiday and future ones, including my all-time favourite storage containers (RIP Tupperware), truly the best way to remove red wine stains, and my choice for a digital thermometer, mine will be working over time these next few days, so I’m happy I got a good one.
Step-By-Step Guide to Thanksgiving Planning, Week 3
Like rounding third and heading for home, this is the fun and exciting part.
All our efforts were expended hitting the ball, getting on first, pumping out energy to get past second, and now, blissfully, we’re in cruise control with victory in sight.
Week One, we tackled the big stuff of cleaning, organizing, and shopping. (And we made excellent festive cocktails.)
Week Two, we got the nitty-gritty done shaping up the guest areas and making and freezing the pies, cookies, and stuffings, so we only have to bake them off on Thanksgiving. (And made two super easy, but super delicious, fan-favourite pre-dinner snacks.)
This Week, with all the heavy lifting complete, we’re happily putting the stress-free final touches on stuff. (And read to the end for two great recipes for leftovers.)
