Manifesting in the pink bubble. Plus panelle, pasta al limone, and frosé.
Hello!
I’m so happy you’re here.
Would you mind clicking the heart on the bottom left?

Thank you.❤️

I’ve started mediating.
Well, sorry, that’s a lie. I should say, I’ve started meditating for the 18-millionth time.
It’s now been two days. I have to do it sitting up, because for a while I was trying it lying down, like I was on a therapist’s couch, but I fell sleep. Not a bad way to knock yourself out, actually.
I’m using the audio version of the best-selling Creative Visualization. You can read the book-book, but I like the narrator’s voice.
Right now, I’m using Creative Visualization’s Pink Bubble technique for manifesting. Basically, after two minutes of grounding your energy by simultaneously absorbing the earth’s energy through my feet and my “grounding cord” at the base of my spine (though I have to admit when I imagine my “grounding cord” I picture a dog’s tail, or worse, a dog’s dingleberry.… I know. I’m working on my chakras to be a more mature spiritualist.)
So whilst imagining the earth energy coming up, I am also to imagine the universe’s energy coming down through my cranium (in my mystic world the earth energy is gold and the universe energy is blue… like the winning colours of a varsity team.)
I’m really supposed to feel this energy take hold, and that’s something I’m still working on, but when it does, I suspect I’ll be unstoppable. Like a supernova.
Ok, so once the energy work is locked and loaded, and I’m grounded and my chakras are cleared, we get to work on the manifesting part, which is why I’m really here.
Following the lead of Soothing Voice, I am instructed to think of something I’d like to achieve – just one thing – not the 59-billion on my to-do list, but the Big Kahuna.
It’s funny, at first I panicked (I panic in testing situations) that I wouldn’t pick the right one, but the thing I wanted came zooming to the top, probably thanks to the upward flow of the gold earth energy coming through my dingleberry grounding cord.
My creative visualization in my lovely pink bubble is something I intend to practice everyday. If nothing else, it’s super fun to take 15 minutes to dream a little dream. Much better than leaning into the headwinds of this current reality.
It also helps cement my road map to 60.
Also, not for nothing, dingleberry is one word. Not two like I had assumed. But because I’m a professionally trained journalist I fact-checked my work. Dingleberry. One word.

This Week’s Big 3
Keep your garlic peels! This is so cool.
The final word on packing clothes. Wirecutter does the heavy lifting in the roll-vs-fold debate. (gift link… I think.)
Pompeii: Out of Time. I’ve watched the first couple of episodes of this Nat Geo doc on Disney+ because Tom Hiddleston is so cute. It’s a unique spin following the lives of three survivors of the fatal eruption. Are you watching?
This Week’s Lanai Lounger Read
This Time Tomorrow by Emma Straub This was released four years ago, so it’s been on my TBR pile for a while now. It’s a charming, heart warming, a little funny, and tender-hearted story about time travel and what we will do for the people we love. I read it in three days. Highly recommend.
The Weekend Menu
Last Sunday’s Dinner: Shrimp, corn and avocado salad with arugula and crispy iceberg lettuce. No recipe, just a throw-it-together thing, but here’s a really easy go-to lemon-shallot salad dressing.
Tonight’s Dinner: Pasta al Limone with green salad (panelle and bubbly to start.)
The weekend cocktail: Frosé (blend a bottle of dry rosé and 3 ounces of orange liqueur with one cup each of frozen peaches and strawberries.)
The weekend wine: Cune “La Bailarina” Rosé, Rioja, Spain $16
See You Next Week
On Tuesday morning I’ll be back bright and early for a post for premium subscribers highlighting some of my favourite summer cookbooks.
I hope to see you there.
Until then –

23 Pounds Gone in 3 Months. The Exercise Routine That Helped Me Shape Up
Hello and welcome to Quaintrelle!

Shakti Gawain! I love that book, I’m going to take your lead and get the audio, happy manifesting, Erin!
Love the recommendations for the book and best way to pack, and appreciate that I now know the proper spelling of dingleberry. You are too funny!
