This is so great and I love being included in such a Canadian vibe newsletter! Currently waiting on my PR card!

I use apple cider vinegar, or if I’ve had wine, add some water to the dregs.

When I immigrated, crossing the border on Canada Day ‘03, the immigration officers decided to mess with me and gave me an oral quiz on Canadian history and geography. I failed to pronounce Etobicoke correctly, but I did know who General Simcoe was, which upset them because I was the first person to get that answer correct. Us New Canadians have to study just a bit harder to join y’all.

Ha! Good on you, Celia. When I was a young reporter, and as lowest rung on the ladder, had to work all the holidays inevitably the same story would run every August which was “why do we have a holiday?” No one knew. No one. Also, no one cared.

Fruit or wine vinegar with a drop of dish soap is my go to for fruit flies. I live in an apple orchard so I have considerable experience.

Thanks for weighing in, Jean. I am quite happy to follow expert opinion. 😊
