On one of the worst days of my life, my oldest friend showed up with a bag of kettle corn, a couple of Ativans, gave me a hug, and drove off like a redheaded Angel of Mercy.
Please be well. And see if you can score some more of that wonder drug.
Now THAT’S a friend. I have to admit, I was tempted to see about a little top up for the prescription, but I’m worried that’s a slippery slope and I’m already susceptible to temptation. But thank you for the kind words, Michael. ❤️
Ativan is one of those drugs that's a life saver for people with severe anxiety and a wonderful temporary help when stressful life events happen. But I can see the dangers of dependency.
And, yes, that is indeed a friend. We've known each other since we were four.
They (palliative care staff) came and picked up the sealed container of The Good Drugs less than 24 hours after my husband died, but I kept the Ativan. Hope all is well and you enjoy the long weekend. It’s raining in Mississauga.
Well, that’s efficient (and a bit rude) of them. I’m more of a drinker than a drug-taker but I was thanking the pharmaceutical gods last Thursday. Total game changer. Of course, I was passed out reading by 8:30, but I suppose that’s an upside as well. Enjoy the long weekend!
Thanks, Jolene, all good here. I think it looks and sounds worse than it is… I’ll find out the final verdict next week I suppose but all the nefarious stuff (cancer, Alzheimer’s, ALS, Parkinson’s, and co.) has been ruled out, so that’s good news.

Oh, it’s a life changer for many! I have a friend who gets by on just a small daily dose. Life can be hard and you gotta do what you can to get by.
Unfortunately for me, I worry that I never know when enough is enough, so best not to poke a sleeping bear.
I know the feeling.

Yes, that’s good 👍
Indeed! 😅
Coincidentally, my two favourite-most things in wine.
