The warmest (and cheapest!) parka, fashion lights, home made flavoured syrups, and how to get people to leave your house. Four ways to a better weekend.
100% agree on homemade simple syrups! And they taste so much better, too. I recently saw a recipe for spiced grenadine and that’s what I’m making this week!
That is a tricky question about getting guests to leave! We know a couple folks who will stay very very long times so we usually meet them at restaurants lol. Haven’t been able to figure out any other solution without ruffling feathers!
Your first paragraph where you describe the weather is brilliant! I felt it. And your recommendations for dealing with our winter weather are appreciated.

Amazing! That sounds delicious!
Stay snuggly in your walkabout sleeping bag, Erin!! This band for runners is a brilliant tip!!
Well, Lolly, it appears I have entered my “safety first” era. 😕 Please don’t unfriend me.
Thinking about it from inside a similar coat 😉
Haha!! Embrace the light!
Your idea of different flavoured simple syrup is much appreciated from this cocktail lover.
I use lemon flavoured syrup when baking lemon pound cake
That lemon syrup would be great in gin cocktails, too. 🍋 🍸
As I mentioned many times before .....you truly missed your calling in the story telling department that is. I always enjoy your anecdotes .
Stay warm on those early morning walks.
Hi mama! 🥰

It is a tricky one.
I know of people who simply announce they’re going to bed and ask anyone still remaining to shut off the lights when they leave.
I’m not a fan of this.
One person I know would simply wish us good night then make themselves at home in the kitchen. 🤣
Oh my. 😆
Your first paragraph where you describe the weather is brilliant! I felt it. And your recommendations for dealing with our winter weather are appreciated.
Thank you, Tracy! It was a bitter morning that inspired it!
