Iām looking forward to it! The guy running it is a very popular forager who offers classes on medicinal plants, mushrooms, edible plants, all kinds of stuff. Should be cool!š
Mushroom foraging on a rainy day sounds like something out of a story. And coming back to a simmering pot of soup? HEAVEN.
Thank you for the wine recommendation, I am going to look for it! My favorite right now is Coteaux du Giennois 2021, which is 80% pinot noir and 20% gamay. Have you ever tried it?
I love wines from the Loire Valley (thatās where Coteaux du Giennois is) and Gamay is one of my favourite grapes (Ontario makes fabulous Gamays if you ever get a chance to try one.)
But I bet itās delicious - good grapes, good region, whatās not to love? š„
As a Toronto resident, Iām probably biased but definitely appreciate the local recommendations! Actually Iām dying to know where you signed up for a mushroom foraging course. Thatās something thatās been on my list of things to do for a long time and have never found a good source for such a course/excursion!
Hi Maria! Thanks for letting me know; that helps to shape the recommendations I share. I hope youāll visit Dominoāsā¦ itās a treasure trove for cooks!
Love a good foraging class! Enjoy! X

I wish Substack would allow for pictures to be attached in replies!
I agree with the other comments about appreciation for Toronto recommendations! Thank you.
Youāre so welcome, Tracey! š„
